  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Pudding Layer
  • 2 cups chocolate pudding mix
  • 4 cups milk
Topping
  • 1 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 1 cup whipped cream for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Cake
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add egg, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Let the cake cool completely in the pan before removing.
Prepare the Pudding
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mix and milk until thickened.
  2. Refrigerate the pudding for about 10 minutes to set.
Assemble the Cake
  1. Once the cake is cool, slice it in half horizontally to create two layers.
  2. Spread half of the pudding mixture over the bottom layer of the cake.
  3. Place the top layer of the cake on the pudding, then spread the remaining pudding on top.
  4. Sprinkle crushed cookies over the pudding layer and top with whipped cream.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes
