Method
Prepare the Pie Crust
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust in the pie dish and crimp the edges.
- Prick the bottom of the crust with a fork to prevent bubbling.
Make the Filling
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
- Fold in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed.
Bake the Pie
- Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly puffed.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for at least 2 hours before serving.
