Ingredients

Donut Dough
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk warm
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Cheesecake Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup strawberries pureed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

Prepare Donut Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Make Cheesecake Filling
  1. In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Add powdered sugar, pureed strawberries, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
Shape and Fry Donuts
  1. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thick.
  2. Cut out donut shapes using a donut cutter or two round cutters.
  3. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry donuts for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Remove and place on a cooling rack to cool slightly.
Fill Donuts and Glaze
  1. Using a piping bag, fill each donut with the cheesecake filling.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
  3. Dip the tops of the filled donuts into the glaze and let set.
