Ingredients
  

For the Eyeballs
  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 cup bread crumbs plain
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 12 slices mozzarella cheese cut into circles
  • 12 black olives pitted for the pupils
For the Spaghetti
  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 2 cups marinara sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried basil optional
  • 1 tsp dried oregano optional

Method
 

Prepare the Eyeballs
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 12 meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter.
  3. Place a mozzarella circle on top of each meatball and press a black olive into the center to create the eyeball effect.
Cook the Eyeballs
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
Cook the Spaghetti
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Drain the spaghetti and return it to the pot. Add marinara sauce, dried basil, and oregano. Stir to combine and heat through.
Serve
  1. Plate the spaghetti and top with the eyeball meatballs. Serve immediately for a spooky presentation!

Notes
