Ingredients
  

Margarita Base
  • 1 cup tequila preferably blanco
  • 1/2 cup orange liqueur such as Cointreau or Triple Sec
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice about 4 limes
  • 1 tablespoon agave syrup adjust to taste
Spice Blend
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
Garnish
  • 4 slices lime for garnish
  • 4 sprigs fresh rosemary for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon coarse salt for rimming glasses

Method
 

Prepare the Spice Blend
  1. In a small bowl, mix together the ground cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves.
Prepare the Glasses
  1. Rub the rim of each glass with a lime wedge and dip into coarse salt to coat the rim.
Mix the Margarita
  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, agave syrup, and the spice blend.
  2. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
Serve
  1. Strain the margarita mixture into the prepared glasses filled with ice.
  2. Garnish each drink with a lime slice and a sprig of rosemary.
