Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 tsp ground allspice
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, melted
  • 0.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cups brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cups apple cider
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cups granulated sugar (for crust)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for crust)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (for crust)

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs. Whisk until smooth, then add apple cider and vanilla extract.

  6. Prepare the cinnamon sugar crust by mixing granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl.
  7. Once baked, let the loaf cool for 10-15 minutes, then brush with melted butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
