Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving 1/4 cup for topping.
Scoop equal balls of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden but tops look slightly under-baked, then cool on a wire rack.
