Orange Glazed Salmon

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pound salmon fillets
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 1/2 cup orange juice fresh squeezed from approximately 1 orange
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch whisked with 1 teaspoon water, optional for a thicker glaze

Method
 

  1. Heat one tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the salmon fillets generously with salt and pepper, then place them skin side up in the hot skillet.
  3. Cook the salmon for about 3-5 minutes without moving it, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.
  4. Remove the salmon from the skillet and tent it with foil to keep warm.
  5. In the same skillet, combine orange juice, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and cornstarch slurry. Stir until well mixed.
  6. Heat the glaze mixture for about 30-60 seconds until hot.
  7. Return the salmon to the skillet and spoon the glaze over each piece.
