Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 75 g sugar
  • 10 g instant yeast
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 250 ml milk warm
  • 75 g butter melted
  • 1 large egg beaten
Filling
  • 100 g dark chocolate chopped
  • 50 g butter softened
  • 25 g brown sugar
Topping
  • 1 large egg for egg wash
  • 1 tbsp milk for egg wash
  • 2 tbsp sugar for sprinkling

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, cardamom, and salt.
  2. Add warm milk, melted butter, and beaten egg. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Make the Filling
  1. In a bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and chopped chocolate until well combined.
Shape the Rolls
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  3. Spread the filling evenly over the dough.
  4. Roll the dough tightly from one long side to the other and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  5. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake
  1. Mix the egg and milk for the egg wash and brush over the rolls.
  2. Sprinkle sugar on top.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Let cool slightly before serving.
