Method
Prepare the Sandwich
- Spread mayonnaise on one side of 4 slices of bread and Dijon mustard on the other side.
- Layer Swiss cheese, ham, and turkey on top of the mustard side, then top with another slice of bread, mayonnaise side down.
- Repeat to make a second sandwich.
Make the Batter
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.
- Gradually add flour, whisking until smooth.
Fry the Sandwiches
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Dip each sandwich into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
- Carefully place the sandwich in the hot oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
Serve
- Remove the sandwiches from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup on the side.
