Ingredients
  

Crust
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Filling
  • 2 cups pecans chopped
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup corn syrup light or dark
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Crust
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, flour, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  2. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking pan to form an even layer.
Make the Filling
  1. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, granulated sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Stir in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed.
Bake the Bars
  1. Pour the pecan filling over the crust in the baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
  3. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
