Method
Prepare the Donut Batter
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease the donut pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients: almond flour, cocoa powder, protein powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: eggs, honey, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Bake the Donuts
- Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Add Toppings
- If desired, melt the dark chocolate chips and drizzle over the cooled donuts.
- Sprinkle cocoa nibs on top for added crunch.
