Ingredients

Pasta and Vegetables
  • 12 oz cheese tortellini fresh or frozen
  • 2 cups broccoli florets fresh or frozen
Chicken
  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded or diced
Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese plus more for serving
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

Method

Cook the Tortellini and Broccoli
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook according to package instructions, about 3-5 minutes. In the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets. Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Prepare the Sauce
  1. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Combine and Serve
  1. Add the cooked tortellini, broccoli, and chicken to the sauce. Toss gently to coat everything in the creamy sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  2. Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
