Method
Prepare the Mixture
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk, all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Mix until well combined.
Bake the Bars
- Grease a baking dish (8x8 inches) and pour the coconut mixture into it, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- If using, sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped nuts on top during the last 5 minutes of baking.
Cool and Serve
- Remove from the oven and let cool in the baking dish for at least 10 minutes.
- Cut into bars and serve.
