Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Ingredients
  

  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 3 large very ripe bananas mashed
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips plus more for the top

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and add eggs one at a time, mixing gently after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, folding gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in mashed bananas and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle additional chocolate chips on top. Bake for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
