Ingredients
  

Gnocchi and Sauce
  • 500 g gnocchi store-bought or homemade
  • 500 g ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes 400g can
  • 1 cup onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper to taste
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese grated
Cheese Topping
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup cheddar cheese shredded

Method
 

Prepare the Bolognese Sauce
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Cook the Gnocchi
  1. In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the gnocchi according to package instructions until they float to the top, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Drain the gnocchi in a colander and set aside.
Assemble the Bake
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked gnocchi with the Bolognese sauce and half of the parmesan cheese.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes
