Ingredients
  

Ground Beef Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef preferably 80/20 for flavor
  • 1 cup onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup bell pepper diced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz, drained
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded, for topping
Biscuit Topping
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter cubed
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded, for mixing in
  • 1 tbsp parsley chopped, for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the diced onion, garlic, and bell pepper; sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning; simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and transfer the filling to a greased baking dish.
Make the Biscuit Topping
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in the milk and shredded cheddar cheese until just combined.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the biscuit mixture over the beef filling in the baking dish.
Bake the Cobbler
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Bake the cobbler for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuit topping is golden brown.
  3. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  4. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.
