Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk whole or 2%
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
Topping
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp parsley fresh or dried

Method
 

Prepare the Oven and Baking Dish
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and shredded cheddar cheese.
Combine Wet Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and egg until well combined.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Bake the Bread
  1. Transfer the batter to the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Prepare the Topping
  1. While the bread is baking, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley in a small bowl.
Finish and Serve
  1. Once the bread is done, remove it from the oven and brush the garlic butter topping over the warm bread. Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
