Method
Prepare the Oven and Baking Dish
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and shredded cheddar cheese.
Combine Wet Ingredients
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, and egg until well combined.
Combine Mixtures
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Bake the Bread
- Transfer the batter to the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Prepare the Topping
- While the bread is baking, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley in a small bowl.
Finish and Serve
- Once the bread is done, remove it from the oven and brush the garlic butter topping over the warm bread. Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
