Prepare the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape the Snakes
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a long snake shape, about 12 inches long.
- Place the shaped snakes on a greased baking sheet.
- Use a knife to make small slits along the body to create scales.
- Add olive slices as eyes on one end of each snake.
Bake the Snakes
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
