  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet

Method

Prepare the Oven and Pan
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
Mix Wet Ingredients
  1. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork or potato masher until smooth. Stir in the melted butter, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt until evenly mixed.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Bake the Bread
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
