Ingredients
  

Beef and Marinade
  • 1 pound ground beef can use lean or regular
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar packed
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger freshly grated
Vegetables
  • 2 cups broccoli florets fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup carrots sliced
  • 1 cup green onions sliced, for garnish
Rice
  • 2 cups cooked rice white or brown

Method
 

Prepare the Rice
  1. Cook rice according to package instructions.
Cook the Beef
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  2. Drain excess fat, then add soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Add Vegetables
  1. Add broccoli and carrots to the skillet, stirring until they are tender, about 3-4 minutes.
Serve
  1. Serve the beef and vegetable mixture over cooked rice and garnish with green onions.
