  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix lukewarm milk and yeast; let sit until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt; create a well in the center and add yeast mixture, softened butter, egg, and vanilla. Mix until dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl covered with a towel for about 1-1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  5. While waiting, prepare the cheesecake filling by mixing cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, flour, and sour cream until smooth.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread softened butter, then cheesecake filling on top.
  7. Sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture and roll tightly into a log; slice into equal pieces.
  8. Place in a greased pan; let rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Cool slightly before topping with icing made from cream cheese and powdered sugar.
