  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup strong coffee
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon gingerbread syrup (for topping)
  • 1 gingerbread man cookie (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the gingerbread syrup by combining water, sugar, molasses, ground ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a saucepan. Bring to a boil while stirring until sugar dissolves. Cool and store.
  2. Whip heavy cream (or coconut cream) with one tablespoon of gingerbread syrup until soft peaks form.
  3. Heat milk until simmering; froth using a French press or electric frother.
  4. In your mug, mix two tablespoons of gingerbread syrup into strong coffee. Add frothed milk on top, then finish with whipped cream and optional garnishes.
