  • 1/4 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons instant espresso powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch pan with foil, spraying it with nonstick spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and dark cocoa until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, beat granulated sugar, eggs, instant espresso powder, and vanilla until fluffy.
  4. Combine the chocolate mixture with the egg mixture until well mixed.
  5. In a separate bowl, stir salt, baking powder, and flour together before folding into the wet ingredients.
  6. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 25-28 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
  7. For frosting, combine heavy cream and instant coffee granules. Beat softened butter with salt; gradually add powdered sugar and coffee mixture until fluffy.
  8. Frost cooled brownies and drizzle with melted chocolate made from heating dark chocolate chips and heavy cream.
