  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (non-alcoholic)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 8 slices crispy turkey bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Pour the BBQ sauce over the meatballs and let them simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.
  6. Slice sub rolls lengthwise and toast them in the oven for approximately 5 minutes.
  7. Assemble each sub with meatballs, extra sauce, cheddar cheese, and turkey bacon.
  8. Return assembled subs to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese.
  9. Serve hot with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
