  • 1/4 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat, then stir in the apple cider.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and apple pie spice.
  4. In another bowl, combine granulated sugar and egg with the cider-butter mixture; whisk until smooth.
  5. Gently mix wet and dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Prepare your donut pan and fill each cavity with batter.
  7. Bake for about 7 minutes or until donuts spring back when touched.
  8. While baking, prepare the cinnamon-sugar topping by combining brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl.
